April is perhaps the busiest month of the year for Japanese related events in Ireland.
The Japanese Film Festival 2015 will be held in venues in Cork, Galway, Limerick, Dublin and Waterford from 8 to 23 April, and will also tour to Sligo and Dundalk for the first time this year. Full details are available on the Japanese Film Festival 2015 website: www.jff.ie.
Experience Japan Hanami Festival Day will be held at Farmleigh House and Estate in Dublin’s Phoenix Park from 12.00 to 16.00 on Sunday 12 April (see www.farmleigh.ie/ for information on access by car and public transport).
Experience Japan is an opportunity to join the Japanese community in Dublin and enjoy hanami and a variety of cultural activities, including Japanese fashion, music and dance, martial arts, taiko drumming, and of course Japanese food stalls. All Experience Japan activities are free.
You will find detailed information on this year’s programme on the Experience Japan website: http://experiencejapan.ie/w/?page_id=1184 along with regular updates on https://www.facebook.com/pages/Experience-Japan/364831154258.
Related Experience Japan events will include a series of academic seminars in April at the Chester Beatty Library (www.cbl.ie) and Dublin City Council, Wood Quay.

Experience Japan is run with the support of the Office of Public Works in Farmleigh, Dublin City Council, the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin City University, University College Dublin, and the Embassy of Japan in Ireland, and its sponsors include the Ireland Japan Association and the Japan Business Society in Ireland.
We hope you will have the opportunity to take part in some of the events included in Experience Japan, now in its sixth year and firmly established as a highlight in the calendar of annual Japanese cultural events in Ireland.
There will be a JET and IJETAA desk at the Experience Japan Festival so please pay a visit!
