Japanese Gardens

A lucky 13 of us visited the Japanese Gardens and Irish National Stud in Kildare on Sunday July 22nd. The gardens are laid out to represent the Life of Man through cheery features like the Gate of Oblivion, the narrow path of Bachelorhood, the Difference of Opinion and the Hill of Disappointment. The gorgeous maples, pines and bonsai – along with some rare Irish sunshine – kept us moving merrily along the paths though, and we were eventually fortified by the Lunch of Deliciousness and the Brownies of Pleasure (kindly supplied by a future JET!).  All this plus we got to meet a horse worth €60 million – thanks to everyone for a great day out!
